Itinerary
Cape Froward, the most southern point of our continental world, glaciers, humpback whales, Sei whales, Piebald dolphins, Commerson’s dolphins and the Magellan Penguin are part of the natural wonders of the Austral region of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego Island. One of the most remote and pristine places of the planet, this full-day journey will make us feel the wildness of nature at its full. Starting early in the morning, we will go by bus to our boarding place located at 50 km south of Punta Arenas, from there we will sail for about 10 hours. An incredible adventure where we will be witness of a unique landscape surrounded by mountains, glaciers, Lenga and Coihue forests. In addition, marine fauna will amaze us by its proximity and abundance: sea lions, petrels, cormorants, austral dolphins, among others, will make us feel and truly experience nature.
Navigate the famous sea route of the Strait of Magellan and watch a beautiful sunrise over Tierra del Fuego and Fuerte Bulnes, the site of the first settlement of Punta Arenas.
Cross Cape Froward at the end point of the American continent and admire the beautiful landscapes at the bottom of the world. See the stunning glaciers of the Darwin mountain range, and look for humpback whales and other wildlife as you enter Francisco Coloane Marine Park.
Encounter Magellanic penguins, sea elephants, sea lions, and austral dolphins in their natural habitat, and look to the sky to spot cormorants and the majestic albatross. Marvel at the great diversity of flora and fauna, and then refuel with lunch. Cruise back to Punta Arenas and get incomparable views before the end of this experience.
Our itinerary considers: Departure from Punta Carrera or Punta Santa Ana, which is a promontory in which the historical site Bulnes Fort is located; San Isidro Lighthouse, a stop to leave passengers at Froward Base Camp, Cape Froward, Rupert Island, Paso Ingles, Paso Shag, Seno Helado and return to Punta Carrera.
