          Detailed Description

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Sukhothai Historical Park. The Park, which used to be a walled city surrounded by a moat, now covers around 27 square miles and contains hundreds of temples and pagodas decorated in a unique Sukhothai style with Khmer and Sri Lankan influences. Cycling is the best way to get around the central zone, containing 21 temples interspersed with lotus-covered pools, canals, and trees. You'll visit the main attractions, such as Wat Mahathat, the Park's spiritual heart, expanded over hundreds of years by various rulers. Next, continue to Wat Sri Chum, known for its massive Buddha image, which is the largest in Sukhothai. The seated Buddha, made of brick and stucco, stands 11 meters wide and 15 meters tall. One of the oldest temples in the park, Wat Sri Sawai, is distinguished by its three Khmer-style prangs, and you'll visit it and other temples nearby.
