Detailed Description
On our Blue Mountains Tour experience this rugged region to the west of Sydney. Known for dramatic scenery, it encompasses steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with guesthouses, galleries and gardens. Quaint town Katoomba borders Blue Mountains National Park and its bushwalking trails while Echo Point affords views of the storied Three Sisters sandstone rock formation.
Less than two hours from Sydney, the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is one of the country’s most spectacular icons. The surrounding picturesque locations that we will visit include the historic town of Katoomba plus much more.
Your Blue Mountains sightseeing tour begins with pick up from your centrally located Sydney hotel, or we also offer a Manly Pickup, before heading west across the world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge following in the footsteps of Australia’s early explorers. The air conditioned comfortable 14-seater mini bus ensures a personalized small group experience and your informative guide will ensure you see the beauty of the Blue Mountains.
Our first stop option is the famous Featherdale Wildlife Park which begins one of our most popular Sydney Tours. This award winning wildlife park will get you up close with some of Australia’s cutest native animals. Here you can cuddle a Koala, hand-feed Kangaroos, and get close to Australia’s national symbol – the inquisitive emu. There are also crocodiles, wombats and countless bird species!
Continue west and head over the mountains ranges right into the heart of the Blue Mountains. Here you will start with an easy-guided walk to a spectacular cliff lookout (a spot off the beaten track) that provides splendid panoramic views of the breathtaking Jamison Valley – a photographer’s paradise with its sheer sandstone cliffs coloured rust and pink, and lush subtropical rainforest beneath.
We’ll stop for lunch at a local spot where you’ll be able to purchase your own choice of meal and put your feet up for a little while and catch your breath before our next stop.
After lunch our next stop is at the capital of the magnificent Mountains – Katoomba. Here you can stand beneath the towering Three Sisters, guardian of the Jamison Valley, and allow yourself to be immersed with the enormity of nature’s beauty.
Option to visit Scenic World which is home to Scenic Railway, Skyway, Cableway and Rainforest Walkway. Glide between cliff tops on the Scenic Skyway! With 360° views, the journey provides the best views of Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, and Jamison Valley. Descend into the Jamison Valley on the Cableway that provides a unique vantage point for viewing the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, Mt Solitary and Katoomba Falls. Discover the tranquillity of ancient rainforest strolling along on a guided walk through the Rainforest Walkway.
Experience the quaint mountain village of Leura that perfectly captures the spirit of the region, with fresh mountain air and stunning scenery. For shopaholics, Leura’s tree-lined main street is filled with antique shops, art galleries, artisan chocolates makers and bookstores
