Walkatjara Art is not only a creative space but also a vital hub for Anangu artists to share their stories and maintain their traditions. Known for its vibrant desert colours, Walkatjara Indigenous artwork is rich with the timeless Creation Stories of Uluru and traditional aspects of desert life, helping to keep Anangu culture and knowledge strong for future generations. The art gallery showcases incredible artworks, each piece carrying stories of Tjukurpa (Anangu creation law), providing a rare opportunity to witness authentic Indigenous Australian art firsthand.
In an exclusive, air-conditioned workspace with stunning panoramic views of Uluru, you’ll be warmly welcomed by expert artists who will guide you through the significance of dot painting. Hear their personal stories and learn how each dot, line, and symbol represent aspects of Anangu Aboriginal culture, history, and landscape. This hands-on experience allows you to develop a deeper appreciation for the tradition as you create your own meaningful Aboriginal dot painting to take home.
