          Detailed Description

Traditional customs of Argentine ranch life are still celebrated at the handful of estancias near Buenos Aires. Your full-day country retreat begins with morning pickup at your city hotel in an air-conditioned van and a panoramic and pleasant drive through the Argentine pampas (plains) to the Estancia.

Once in the estancia, we will be greeted with a welcome reception where we will be served traditional meat empanadas, Argentine wine and soft drinks.

Take a tour of Santa Susana’s grounds, chapel and museum while hearing stories about this historic working ranch. At the end of the activity, the Estancia offers a delicious barbecue.

During lunch, you will be entertained with a tango and folklore show of classical music and dance where everyone is invited to dance. We will be able to watch an exciting show of boleadoras, the weapons thrown by the gauchos. After lunch, the real entertainment will begin as the gauchos demonstrate their incredible skills. There will be a ring race (known as "la sortija"), animal herding and the "carrera de cuadreras", a typical gaucho competition.

To end this traditional experience, a typical Argentinean drink "mate" (yerba mate leaves macerated in hot water) and pastries will be served in the afternoon.

The tour ends with a drop off in downtown Buenos Aires
