      Detailed Description

After collecting you from your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán, we will head north towards the Celestino Gelsi Dam, commonly known as El Cadillal. Next to this spectacular feat of engineering is the MAC: the Archaeological Museum of El Cadillal. We will visit the permanent exhibition where you will see a variety of ancient vessels, mortars, arrowheads, and other tools belonging to the Candelaria people who inhabited these lands between the 3rd and 7th centuries AD.

Our tour continues at the picturesque village of Trancas, where you will learn all about how this tiny corner of the country played an important role in the independence of Argentina. Continuing north we arrive at San Pedro de Colalao, one of the most outstanding tourist municipalities in the north of the country.

On the tour, we will also visit one of the most venerated pilgrimage sites in the province of Tucumán: the Grotto of Lourdes. This is a reproduction of the famous cave in France. You will hear all about how and why this small Gallic catholic shrine was built in San Pedro de Colalao.

After visiting the cave, you will have you own free time to taste some of the famous local gastronomy. After lunch, we will finally return you to your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán.
