          Detailed Description

We will pick you up from your hotel located in the city of Puno.

Our city tour begins with a visit to the historic Arco Deústua, a monument built in 1847 to honor the martyrs of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho. This beautifully carved stone arch is surrounded by gazebos and fountains that enhance its grandeur. It stands as a symbol of independence and the patriotic spirit of the people of Puno—a place that invites reflection on the region’s rich history.

Our next stop is Parque Pino, a space where pre-Hispanic tradition meets colonial heritage. In the past, it was a bustling market for trade, and today it hosts cultural events. Here you’ll also find the San Carlos School, the oldest in the city, founded by Simón Bolívar.

Just a few steps away, we’ll pass by the San Juan Church, built in 1562. This temple houses the revered image of the Virgin of Candelaria, Puno’s patron saint, whose February festival is considered the largest in Peru. This sacred site reflects the deep devotion and traditions of its people.

The tour continues along Jirón Lima, a pedestrian street lined with restaurants, cafés, and shops offering local products. This is Puno’s tourist heart—perfect for soaking up the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

We then arrive at the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by historic buildings. At its center stands a modern fountain, and nearby, the majestic Puno Cathedral. This 17th-century minor basilica is a testament to the art and faith of past generations. Its colonial architecture and historical significance are sure to leave you in awe.

Next, we’ll head to the Huajsapata Viewpoint, one of Puno’s most iconic locations. Just minutes from downtown, this hill offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and Lake Titicaca—especially stunning at sunset. At the summit, you’ll find a large sculpture of Manco Cápac, the mythical founder of the Inca Empire, reinforcing the site`s historical and symbolic importance.

Our journey continues to the mystical Laykakota Market, also known as the Witches’ Market. This unique spot in Puno is a fascinating blend of Andean traditions, ancestral beliefs, and spirituality. Here, you’ll find everything from medicinal herbs and amulets to ritual objects used in offerings to Mother Earth.

Finally, we’ll visit local artisan markets where you can discover traditional crafts and, if you wish, purchase unique handmade pieces as memorable keepsakes from this cultural experience.

The tour concludes with your return to your hotel.
