Itinerary
Departing your hotel this morning, we board your vehicle for a short drive to MONA. On arrival, you will join the excellent “Fully Decanted” experience at Moorilla Winery.
For this (literal) deep-dive into Moorilla’s wines, you’ll begin with an informative private tour of the vineyard and winery, escorted by one of Moorilla’s resident wine-savants. Then it’s off to the underground wine bunker for a comprehensive tasting of the Moorilla range (including wines from their Praxis, Muse and Cloth Label series) - plus any interesting goodies we’re currently pouring - all decanted into spiffy crystal glassware (you’ll get some tips on the finer points of decanting and wine tasting, too).Afterwards, we settle in & marvel at the sweeping views overlooking the museum and neighbouring wineries at The Source Restaurant, take time to enjoy a two-course lunch with impeccable service & browse through their award-winning wine list.
Next, have some time to discover the interesting and controversial Museum of Old and New Art. Located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale Peninsula, this museum presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection.
As your day concludes, experience Mona’s own luxury vessel the “Mona Roma” back to Constitution Dock. Sitting up from in the Posh Pit, you will have time to enjoy a freshly made tea or coffee, whilst sampling some great food and wine as you venture up the Derwent River.
On arrival, rejoin your vehicle for the drive back to Hobart arriving to your hotel in the early evening.
