Detailed Description
Begin this adventure with the convenience of a pick-up from your hotel in Huaraz or by meeting us at our designated meeting point. We’ll head north through the breathtaking Callejón de Huaylas, where each stop will amaze you with its history, landscapes, and unique flavors.
Our first stop is the charming town of Carhuaz, known for its traditional atmosphere and delicious artisanal ice cream, made from fresh local fruits (optional). Here, you can breathe in the pure mountain air and admire the stunning snow-capped peaks surrounding the valley.
Next, we’ll visit the Campo Santo of Yungay, a site of deep historical significance. You’ll learn the powerful story of the devastating 1970 earthquake that completely buried the town. We’ll explore the remains and its cemetery, a place filled with remembrance and reflection.
We’ll then enter the stunning Huascarán National Park, home to the breathtaking Llanganuco Lagoon. This turquoise lake, formed by the Orconcocha and Chinancocha lagoons, is surrounded by towering mountains and lush vegetation. Here, you can walk along scenic trails or take an optional boat ride on the crystal-clear waters.
To recharge, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a cozy local restaurant (optional), where you can savor the authentic flavors of the region.
Our journey continues to Caraz, known as the "City of Snow-capped Peaks." In its charming Main Square, we will panoramically admire the Stone Temple, and you’ll have the chance to taste the region’s famous dulce de leche and traditional fruit-based sweets.
To end our adventure on a high note, we’ll visit the district of Taricá, where skilled artisans will showcase their traditional clay craftsmanship. Here, you’ll find unique, handcrafted souvenirs to take home.
Finally, we’ll return to Huaraz, carrying unforgettable memories of this magical journey.
