Kangaroo Island or KI as the locals call it, is a South Australia icon and one of world’s finest nature destinations, with breathtaking landscapes and fascinating wildlife. Just a short distance off the coast of South Australia, Kangaroo Island is internationally celebrated for its pristine wilderness and wildlife as well as a thriving food and wine industry.
KI is Australia's third largest island at 155 km long by 55 km wide, and over 540 kms of spectacular coastline. It is a big place and will easily take you days to discover.
SeaLink’s two modern, air-conditioned vehicle and passenger ferries, Sealion 2000 and Spirit of Kangaroo Island take just 45 minutes to cross Backstairs Passage between Cape Jervis and Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Up to 12 ferry departures are offered each day.
Both ferries are twin-hulled catamaran ferries complete with air-conditioned lounges, comfortable lounge or café style seating, a licensed café serving great cappuccinos and fresh snacks, outdoor viewing decks, wheelchair access, disabled toilets and baby change facilities.

The operator offers the service of a 'luggage van' to load your luggage into. The van is parked alongside the Cape Jervis or Penneshaw Ferry Terminals and you are responsible for placing and collecting your own luggage to/from the luggage van.
