Itinerary
Explore Hue, the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen lords. Visit the beautiful Royal Tombs, wonder at the magnificent Thiên Mu Pagoda, and enjoy a boat ride on the idyllic Perfume River on this full-day excursion.
Begin your Hue adventure with hotel pickup and head to Cam Ke, 7.5 miles (12 km) north of the city, to visit the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang. Wonder at the magnificent symmetrical structure that perfectly blends into its natural surroundings. Then travel to the tombs of Emperor Khai Dinh and Emperor Tu Duc. The latter consists of both a temple and tomb area and is regarded to be one of the most beautiful works of royal architecture from the Nguyen Dynasty.
Take in breathtaking views of Vong Canh Hill and then maybe learn how to make a conical hat and incense stick. Refuel your energy with lunch at a local restaurant before stopping at the imperial capital to see the tallest religious building in Vietnam, the 7-story temple, Thiên Mu Pagoda.
Finally, float along the gentle Perfume River, where flowers from orchard trees fall into the water, giving the river its wonderful scent. Take in this pleasant, pastoral landscape while the boat takes you back to Hue, where your transportation awaits.
