Itinerary
Day 1: Fethiye Harbour
The Gulet will be available for boarding from 3pm today. However, you may store your luggage at the gulet operator's local office in Fethiye from 11.00am, and then board at 3pm. We will provide joining instructions for where to find the boat in Fethiye Harbour. The rest of the afternoon is free in Fethiye, though a pre-cruise information briefing will take place in the late afternoon. In the evening you will enjoy your first dinner on board while meeting the other passengers. The night will be spent on board the boat in Fethiye harbour.
Note: Turkish Gulets do not have twin bedded cabins available. Solo travellers will need to add a single cabin supplement.

Day 2: Sail to Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley, St. Nicholas Island
After breakfast we'll leave Fethiye harbour and start our Gulet cruise out of the Gulf of Fethiye and sail around the coast of Fethiye Peninsular to the famous beautiful coastal resort village of Oludeniz with its beautiful blue lagoon and wide white Belcekiz Beach. We'll also stop at the nearby nature reserve at Butterfly Valley for a walk and swim. We'll spend the night at St. Nicholas Island where you can explore the ruins of an old Byzantine settlement as the sun sets. Tea, dinner and fruit is served before you can sleep overnight either in your cabin or under the stars on the deck of the boat.

Day 3: Sail to Yesilkoy and Kas
We start sailing early today and proceed along the coast towards Yesilkoy which has a quiet bay surrounded by Mediterranean shrubland (maquis) and olive groves. We'll have breakfast here and have time to swim in the bay. Then its off to the small harbour town of Kas which has a charming bohemian atmosphere, whitewashed houses and lots of colourful bougainvillea throughout the summer months. The modern town sits on the ancient site of Antiphellos and there are still some visible ruins including a theatre and the 4th century B.C. Lion Tomb. We'll spend the night moored up here.

Day 4: Sail to Simena and Ucagiz
Our first stop today is the tiny fishing village of Simena, which is also known as Kalekoy or Kale locally. The vilage has a beautiful setting with fishing boats, ancient and medieaval houses by the shore, with a steep cliff behind and Simena Castle perched above. You can walk up to the castle for great views of the village below, the island of Kekova and the surrounding fields of a Lycian necropolis. Out in the bay, a single Lycian sarcophagus sits on a pedestal in the water, overlooked by a theatre carved into the rock. After spending some time exploring here, we'll spend the night in a wide bay surrounded by green hills at nearby Ucagiz.

Day 5: Sail to Kekova, Tersane Bay and Gokkaya
A short cruise along the coast this morning brings us to the island of Kekova which is known both for its beautiful setting and turquoise sea, and also for the sunken city of of the sunken ruins of Dolchiste, an ancient Lycian settlement. The town was partially submerged by a powerful earthquake in the 2nd century, and you can look down from the Gulet and see many of the abandoned and damaged buildings. While you cannot swim here, we'll head next to Tersane Bay where this is definitely possible, and you can look at the ruins of an ancient Byzantine church and a Roman dockyard on the beach. Finally we'll sail on to Gokkaya, another beautiful bay with many tiny offshore islands, where we'll spend the night.

Day 7: Sail to Bayindir Limani and Kalkan
After breakfast, we take a short cruise to the sheltered bay at Bayindir Limani for a swim. The rest of the day is then spent in Kalkan, which is a picturesque harbour town set on a hillside with the Taurus Mountains as a backdrop and a sweeping bay in front. The harbour is busy with Turkish gulets and small fishing boats, and the historic old town then extends away from the sea with thriving restaurants, boutiques, roof terraces, cobbled streets and shops to explore. You can also take an optional trip to the nearby Patara Beach, which is a national park and one of the Mediterranean's few breeding grounds for turtles which visit between May and October. For history buffs, the ancient city and World Heritage Site of Xamthos, the ancient capital of the Lycians is also close at hand, and the ruins there and at Letoon are well worth a visit.

Day 8: Sail to Camli Burun and Batikkaya Bay
After an early start we sail to Camli Burun, a natural bay edged with pine-clad hills. We then continue sailing back towards Fethiye, and your last night on board is spent in Batikkaya Bay. Another day of relaxing, sunbathing, sightseeing and swimming has past.

Our cruise ends today as we say goodbye to our boat crew and disembark the boat at Fethiye Harbour after breakfast this morning.

Day 1: Fethiye Harbour
