Itinerary
Your journey begins at B Shed Terminal (Victoria Quay, Fremantle WA / Northport Ferry Terminal (Rous Head, North Fremantle WA) , located approximately 25-30 minutes from Fremantle CBD.
**Parking & Transfers:
1/ Fremantle (B Shed) - 1 Peter Hughes Dr, Fremantle
*Please Note: The B Shed terminal is currently undergoing renovations. To ensure the safety of all our guests, there will be some changes to road and berth access, so please follow the safety instructions and signage at the terminal. Our team continues to operate out of an office on the E Shed side of Peter Hughes Drive for those who require assistance. For more information regarding the renovation click ‘More Info’ below.
Parking will be extremely busy in and around our B Shed terminal. We encourage you to aim to arrive 30-40 minutes prior to your ferry to allow time for parking, luggage delivery, and a smooth start to your trip. Alternatively, you can travel from our Northport terminal in Rous Head for ample parking options.
For day-trippers and passengers coming from south of the Swan River, B Shed is the most convenient Rottnest Island departure point. It’s also close to Fremantle train station, so if you’re arriving via public transport, you’ll be just a short walk from your ferry. Very limited long-term parking is available from $12 per day with Wilson Parking.

2/ Fremantle (Northport) - 1 Emma Pl, Rous Head Rd, North Fremantle
*Please Note: Cycling, scootering and walking are all prohibited within the Rous Head port. The only way to access our Northport terminal is via car.
For locals and passengers looking for a convenient terminal for departure to Rottnest Island, Northport is the most accessible Rottnest Island departure point. It’s also got a private carpark with over 200 bays, so if you’re arriving under your own steam, you will be able to park your car for both short and extended stays in a secure carpark. Arrive early and relax at the Northport Cafe before a speedy journey to the island.
Short & long-term parking is available at affordable rates per day onsite, this carpark is managed by Wilson Parking and paid for in the ticket machines in the carpark or through the Wilsons parking app.
Opening Hours: Monday – Sunday 7:30am – 5:30pm
*Northport carpark closes 30 mins after the last ferry of the day.
**Boarding: The stable, comfortable vessel makes the 25-30 minutes crossing easy.
**Onboard: Most seating is indoors, but two outdoor areas are available for fresh air and scenic views. Seasickness tablets are recommended if large swells are expected.

Upon arrival at Thomson Bay Jetty, visit the Rottnest Island Visitor Centre for maps and information to help plan your self-guided adventure. With no set itinerary, you have full freedom to explore
