Detailed Description
After pick up at your hotel in El Calafate (around 4pm) you'll be taken to the ranch and welcome with a variety of hot drinks and homemade products, served on the old shed (from 1912). Then you can choose between several activities to be part of, for example:
-Sheep herding, done by gauchos on horseback and with the work of kelpies.
-Guided hike through the Natural Reserve ¨Laguna de los Pájaros" and Lago Argentino, an interpretation trail of Patagonian flora and fauna and sighting of more than 40 species of migratory birds.
-Guided visit and demonstration of shearing in the old shed, original from 1912: the guides provide information on the exploitation, production, baling and transport of wool. Here we also attend a demonstration of complete shearing, in charge of the shearer of the estancia.
Dinner will be served after the activities and it includes Empanadas, Patagonian lamb, chicken, sausages and variety of salads / homemade dessert. Drinks not included.
Come back to El Calafate around 10 pm.
