Itinerary
Travelling south west from Launceston through green pastures, and by the Great Western Tiers mountain range towards Cradle Mountain National Park
We pass the historical towns of Carrick, Hagley and Westbury and the scenic town of Deloraine – renowned for arts and crafts.
We stop at Sheffield, the town of murals. You can see the many intricate and life-like murals that adorn the town’s buildings while walking the main streets.
Heading into the National Park, look out for wombats, wallabies and other native animals that inhabit the Cradle Mountain area.
Visit the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre for an educational insight and an appreciation of the area.
Take a short stroll through the magical Enchanted Forest viewing pencil pines, lush forest and a spectacular waterfall
Take a walk around Dove Lake to view the powerful and majestic Cradle Mountain (weather permitting)
Visit Waldheim Chalet (forest home) of Gustav Weindorfer
On the return to Launceston, we stop into Ashgrove Cheese Farm for some famous Tasmanian cheese tasting and to learn how cheese is made.
Departs at 8:00am from Launceston
