Itinerary
Get ready today we will begin our adventure around 08:00 am leaving from our hotel in Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt, we will travel for an hour along the famous Pan American Route to the town of Pargua, from where we will board a ferry to sail through the Chacao Channel, which separates the continent with the Big Island of Chiloé. During the navigation of approximately 45 minutes we will be able to observe sea lions, pelicans and marine birds typical of this region.
We will dock in the town of Chacao, this is one of the oldest towns on the island, it was founded in 1567. It has a Plaza de Armas where we can appreciate the curious and picturesque typical constructions made of larch wood, we will also visit its colorful fort and the San Antonio de Chacao Church, one of the 150 Churches that we can find in Chiloé.
We will continue our trip until we reach Quemchi, where we can visit its beautiful Costanera, which the writer Francisco Coloane baptized as the commune of 1000 landscapes. Later we will go to a wonderful place, Aucar, the Island of Navigating Souls which we can enter through a 430 meter wooden bridge.
Our next stop will be to the City of Dalcahue, located in front of the Island of Quinchao and which on its waterfront has a Gastronomic and Crafts Market with a spectacular view.
We will visit the Fair and walk towards the Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores Church, a typical Chilote construction that is part of the World Heritage Site.
We will have time to have lunch in one of the typical and most picturesque restaurants on your trip. (Not included).
After this well-deserved stop, we will continue our trip to the city of Castro, Capital of the Big Island of Chiloé, we will have enough time to take photographs in the Palafitos, which are colorful houses where the pillars are arranged over the water.
We will also visit the San Francisco Church in front of the city square, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and finally we will go to the Castro Market, where we will find traditional crafts, fresh foods and a variety of local products.
After this beautiful visit, relax and settle in to begin our return with the beautiful postcards in the background along the way. You will undoubtedly treasure these memories forever.
