Detailed Description
Discover the soul of Buenos Aires through an experience that blends art, history, and hands-on creativity. Fileteado Porteño—the city’s signature artistic style—began as decorative flourishes on carts and buses and has evolved into a symbol of local identity, filled with color, movement, and meaning.
We begin at the corner of El Federal, a beloved historic bar officially recognized as a Bar Notable. With its authentic atmosphere and a colorful mural as our backdrop, our guide will introduce you to the roots of fileteado.
Next, we’ll walk the streets of San Telmo, one of the city's most charming and traditional neighborhoods.
We’ll visit the Church of San Pedro González Telmo—where original works by the great Martiniano Arce are on display—and continue to the famous Mercado de San Telmo, a bustling space where tradition meets daily life.
Then, it's time to switch from spectator to artist.
Over a typical Buenos Aires merienda—tea or coffee paired with two buttery medialunas—you’ll meet a professional fileteador who will guide you through the step-by-step process of painting your own fileteado piece. All materials are included, and you’ll take home your very own hand-painted souvenir, along with a certificate of participation.
