Brazilian artists are consecrated worldwide by the great talent of expression in graphite. The Gemeos and Eduardo Kobra, for example, are national names that receive merit and prestige by being invited to paint works on walls all over the world. This recognition is the result of overcoming prejudice against graffiti as an art form, a typical feature in the history of this type of painting.
The movement that was once considered vandalism gained a very strong power by the end of the 1970s, as one of the forms of resistance to dictatorship. The artists of São Paulo were inspired by American movements and carried out urban interventions as a form of protest. The drawings and graphics have generated many controversies, but today are represented around the world in important points of large cities, such as London, Berlin, Barcelona and New York.
