Detailed Description
Program:
Day 1: São Luís / Barreirinhas / Lençóis Maranhenses
Starting at 06:40, depending on the location of your accommodation, board an air-conditioned vehicle heading to the city of Barreirinhas (Gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park). The journey is approximately 260 km long with an average duration of 03:30 hours and a quick stop in the city of Morros for restrooms and coffee (not included). Check-in and accommodation. At 13:40, departure in a 4x4 open-air vehicle for the Grand Lençóis Circuit. Crossing by ferry over the Preguiças River and continuing through a trail to the stopping point (about 40 minutes of trail). Disembark and begin a light walk on the white sand to the crystal-clear lagoons, formed during the rainy season, with stops for swimming and admiring the beautiful landscape and sunset. Return to the vehicle by the same route to the hotel. Free evening.
Day 2: Small Lençóis
After breakfast, depart from the hotel to the pier on Av. Beira Rio and board a speedboat for the Preguiças River Circuit (APA - Environmental Protection Area). During the journey, enjoy the landscape of typical mangrove vegetation and the region's fauna along the river. The first stop is at the Vassouras community, where the small Lençóis and a small community of riverside dwellers and capuchin monkeys inhabit and interact with visitors. Continue to Mandacaru, a small village that houses the Preguiças Lighthouse with 160 steps to enjoy a 360o view of the region with dunes, river, estuary, typical vegetation, and the city. Finally, Caburé, a beach that divides between the river and the sea. Stop for lunch (not included). From 15:00, departure by speedboat passing through river streams until Barreirinhas for overnight stay.
Day 3: Barreirinhas / Parnaíba
At 08:30, board an air-conditioned vehicle heading to the city of Parnaíba. During the journey, pass through the small Lençóis, Paulino Neves, Tutóia, and Lagoinha. The average duration is 03:30 hours. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Beaches of the Eastern Coast and Americas' Delta with the Scarlet Ibis flyover
In the morning, after breakfast, depart in an air-conditioned vehicle for a tour of the main beaches of the East Coast of Piauí (Luis Correia, Atalaia, Coqueiro, and Macapá - beach visits depend on the tide). Return to the hotel. At 14:30, depart to Porto dos Tatus and board a speedboat to visit the channels and streams of the Americas' Delta, visit Caju Bay, Morro do Meio Dunes, and at the end of the day, the dormitory of the Scarlet Ibis, birds with red feathers that predominate in the region. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Parnaíba / Jericoacoara
In the morning, at a pre-arranged time, depart in a 4x4 air-conditioned vehicle (Hilux or similar) to Jericoacoara via Camocim with a ferry crossing over the Coreaú River, passing through Ilha do Amor, Tatajuba, Lagoa da Torta, Guriú, and Mangue Seco with crossings between dunes, rivers, and lagoons in addition to local villages (Duration: approximately 03:30 hours). Free evening. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Jericoacoara
At 09:00, depart for a buggy tour along the east coast, where we will visit: Árvore da Preguiça, Preá Beach, Blue Hole (entrance fee not included), Blue Lagoon, and Paradise Lagoon, where we'll spend the rest of the day. Around 16:30, expected arrival at Jericoacoara beach. Overnight stay.
Day 7: Jericoacoara / Fortaleza
After breakfast, at a pre-arranged time, depart in a 4x4 air-conditioned vehicle (Hilux or similar) to the city of Fortaleza via the road with an approximate duration of 05 hours.
